From Jerrod Blandino:
Who’s ready for a sneak peek? My newest palette is called Love 💗 and is inspired by the lost art of love letters. The shadows are created using an innovative Slurry Technology which allows for soft, velvety powders with multidimensional color pay-off! Available on toofaced.com June 15 and in stores July 15! #toofaced
The Too Faced Love Passionately Pretty Eyeshadow Palette aka the Too Faced Love Eyeshadow Palette ($49) is a new permanent eyeshadow palette that launched with the Too Faced Fall 2015 Makeup Collection that contains fifteen gorgeous shades of eyeshadow, a how to get the look guide, and a Perfect Eyes Eye Liner all housed in a pretty little compact.
Let’s take a look!
The Too Faced Love Eyeshadow Palette comes with 12 shades of shadows broken up into three different looks with a range of shades in shimmer, pearl, and matte finishes. It was created with a slurry powder technology that gives the shadows a smooth, velvety texture.
They call the “slurry technology” a liquid powder and that’s fairly accurate as the eyeshadows have a hybrid texture that feels like a cream yet applies like a powder. It’s just the effect of a liquid mixture that has finer particles of powder giving the appearance and texture of a creamier, thicker consistency.
I love the textures on these shades. They are thinner with a smooth creaminess and a pretty shimmery finish (aside from the mattes that is). Too many times I’m faced with very frosty eyeshadows from Too Faced but these have a very pretty shimmer but not a ton of frost which I’m all about. Although I will say some of the pearl finish shades did have a bit of frostiness to them. I was disappointed slightly with the mattes. There aren’t many to be had here as the palette is mostly made up of shimmer shades and you’re getting about four mattes total. These are a little drier in consistency and applied a bit patchy on my eyes. The other shades were perfect but were quite powdery (as you can see that below in the first photo!) and did have a good deal of fall out during application. The formula is a lot different from past palettes you may own from Too Faced which personally I like because things can get repetitive so it’s nice to try something new.
1. Dearest 2. Cherish 3. Desire 4. Amorous 5. Adore
1. Passion 2. Smitten 3. Romance 4. Obsessed 5. Sweetie Pie
1. Darling 2. Devotion 3. Puppy Love 4. Everlasting 5. XOXO
The palette is a sturdy black plastic compact with a postcard or love letter face plate covered by a clear plastic sheet. It’s cute and has a bit of a Parisian, “romance is in the air” theme about it. I’m surprised they didn’t wait for Spring to release this as although the colors in the palette are warmer the actual design feels very Spring-like to me. Inside you’ll find a mirror with a tiny pocket that holds three look cards that give instructions to create six total looks. The 15 eyeshadows are broken into three different selections featuring five shades each. If you’re familiar at all with Japanese brands I’m sure the cute heart design might remind you of Lavshuca (as seen in the below images).
Also inside the palette you’ll find a full size Too Faced Perfect Eyes Waterproof Eyeliner in Perfect Black. It has a matching packaging design like the palette! I love these pencils as they are super creamy, apply easily. and wear quite well on my waterline.
I started my blog in 2007 and at that time I was all about Japanese makeup. It’s taken that long for the US market to catch up to the Asian one and I’m happy to see how it has and is influencing brands here in the US that I know, love, use, and collect. I don’t think the Too Faced Love Eyeshadow Palette is going to be a hit for everyone as some people might not love the texture of these shades but personally I thought it was great! If you’ve heard me or other beauty bloggers talk about the joys of Asian makeup and you’ve always wanted to try it for yourself, now is your chance because this palette embraces the formula beautifully well. The mattes were a bit disappointing but all in all these creamy shades of shadow are gorgeous!

Seems like summer just started but brands have already started tempting us with their gorgeous Fall collections! Too Faced is coming out with a new 15 pan eyeshadow palette this Fall – Passionately Pretty Eye Shadow Collection. It’s really some serious eye candy! Beautiful silky shadows that are a mix of metallic, shimmer, pearl and matte finish in one palette.
The shadows have a silky, lightweight texture that come on super smooth as well as sit closely on the skin. What makes the shadows different is that they have a liquid powder blend that helps them feel so silky and gives them a super pigment that gives off a multi-dimensional intense color payoff!
The signature Too Faced hard cover case makes the palette easy to travel with, without the worry of the shadows breaking.
The palette includes an exclusive Full Size Black Perfect Eyes Eye Liner in Dressed in Love as well as a step by step how to get the look guide to create six looks with the palette!
Overall this is a really nice well rounded palette. I love the metallic shadows most like the golds, coppers, champagne and mint green because they really pop! I felt like the shadows came on more pigmented with my brush slightly damp. A couple of the matte colors I feel were a little too soft, I wish they were as pigmented as the rest of the colors. But I guess it gives variety to the palette and the softness of the matte tones will help to balance the brightness of the metallic/shimmery tones to create an all rounded eye makeup look.
The variety of shades is really great, and I like how all the colors are really wearable which makes this palette one you’d actually end up using instead of keeping it away for rare occasions. You can really create so many different looks with these colors. Though the palette has 15 colors, I like how they designed the palette so that its not so big (but the amount of shadow you get in the pan size is still big).
I really love this palette and I’m so happy I have one! Too Faced eye shadows have this amazing signature texture and the metallic/shimmery tones are to die for! It’s one of those must haves because of the beautiful range of colors, texture and finish of the shadows. Recommended !
