Today is the 388th birthday of Charles Perrault, if you don’t know who Perrault is, well he is the original author of such fairy tales as Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella, and of course Little Red Riding Hood. In his honor today we are featuring an amazing Little Red Riding Hood styled shoot by Samantha Sunderwirth of Maggie Z Photo.
”When the concept for this shoot came into my head, I knew what I wanted the dress, the model, and the location to look like, and what you see here is exactly what I imagined.”
When I think about fairy tale shoot is usually think over the top flowery princess. However in this case Maggie Z Photo did an amazing job of creating a modern elegant fairy tale with an edge. Samantha’s vision for her red caped bride included frayed edges on the skirt which was exactly what she found in this beautiful modern Enzoani Couture gown from Bacio Bacio Bridal Salon.
“The shoes by Hades Footwear belong to the model and I was in love as soon as she showed them to me, I was looking for paired with a black rhinestone detail for a little more dark and unique look. The Victorian meets Steampunk inspiration went beautifully with the concept of this shoot and the look of the model.” said Samantha.
Riverbend Park, Jupiter, FL was the backdrop for this magical fairy tale shoot and was exactly what Samantha was looking for this is what she said “I wanted this shoot to flow like a story. Little Red Riding Hood is in the dark forest with her beautiful red cape and then at the end, she comes into the light, takes off the cape and becomes a beautiful bride. I know that’s not how the fairy tale ends, but it does in my shoot!”
