Michelle and Jesse’s Story:
How They Met:
Jesse and Michelle met during the most awkward years of adolescence…. middle school. They were both 12 years old; she had the most frizzy curly hair and would plaster it down with copious amounts of gel and wore the nerdiest glasses. Jesse on the other hand was a total cutie, he was the cool kid everyone liked because of his genuine kindness and basketball talent. Although we were total opposites we instantly clicked and stayed good friends throughout middle school and high school. They started dating soon after graduation and it has been the funnest adventure ever since!
He proposed on what seemed like an almost normal day for their family. (That’s how he tricked her!). Tuesday nights they always go out to eat with his family, however this particular Tuesday they were eating at a fancy restaurant in New Symrna beach to celebrate a recent promotion he received at work. Naturally for the occasion Michelle got a little dressed up and was ready for a night out to celebrate. Little did she know the secret plan was to have her believe that his family would cancel dinner plans last minute, leaving Jesse and her in the middle of New Symrna beach. Since Dinner was canceled they decided to take a walk on the beach (his proposal plan all along), however the beach access was closed and a towing truck was nearby so there was no place to park. Michelle noticed a nervousness on Jesse’s face and was a bit confused on why he was so adamant on making it to the beach. He then found a off-side place to park, there they walked to the inter-coastal and found a beautiful spot to sit and watch the sunset. The sky was filled with soft oranges and pinks as the sun hit the horizon. Seriously it should have been a scene from Nicholas Sparks book. A family of dolphins swam near as pelicans flew across the sky. A view that needed to be remember. Jesse then insisted on taking a photo of her facing the sunset. He took two photos, and on the third one he told me to look back and smile and when I did he was on one knee. She did more then smile! She jumped up in excitement! Hugs and kisses ensued. She was way too excited to cry! Little did Michelle know the night was not over. As they drove back home to share the news with family, She was too busy “awwing” and drooling over the ring to be suspicious of more surprises. Upon entering his house loud shouts of “surprise!” filled the room. Michelle’s immediate family and close friends crowded around them! That’s when the tear drop came! Michelle is such a home body and family girl, that being surrounded by all her loved ones touched her heart! It was by the best night of her life!
