Happy Monday Beauties! We are starting the week off on the right foot with a beautiful love stories! There are so many love stories and weddings that are as sweet as can be, but one of the sweetest is still that classic tale of the high school sweethearts. High school sweethearts, Melissa and Colby had a delicious and endearing wedding. There are so many graceful and charming details like Melissa’s amazingly elegant updo or Colby’s bright blue on subtle gray suit. We also love seeing beautiful brides rock their frames on their wedding day!
Congratulations to the high school sweethearts! Thank you, Hancer Photography for bringing us these glimpses of joy!
From the Bride:
Colby and I met at our church when I was 11. He was a year older than me and I had a secret crush on him. What I didn’t know was that he had a secret crush on me. When I was 14 one of his friends spilled the news that Colby liked me, so we started talking. We immediately hit it off, but I wasn’t allowed to date until I was 16. Two days after my 16th birthday he asked me out, and we’ve been together ever since. We were always there for each other to celebrate the fun times and to comfort each other during the hard times. We stuck it out when I went halfway across the country for school, all the while looking toward the future.
I was able to come “home” for the Christmas break of my Junior year of college. Colby and I had planned a day in Boston, but there was a snowstorm that prevented us from going. Instead, we decided to go to our favorite park and have a snowball fight, then go back to his parent’s house for hot chocolate and movies. We were taking a stroll through the park when he got down on one knee in the snow and proposed.
We were engaged for a year and a half before we finally got to tie the knot. I was excited to jump into wedding planning and with the help of Pinterest and my sister in law, I found a rustic venue that perfectly fit my vision. I looked at all sorts of online reviews to choose my DJ, bakery, and photographer. For me, the most important vendor was the photographer. At the end of the day, no one was going to remember or care about the tablecloths or invitations, but my pictures would last forever, so we spent a lot of time looking for the perfect person.
The hardest part of wedding planning for me was the small details. There were hundreds of saving the date templates and thousands of invitation options. That, paired with my indecisiveness, created a lot of stress. Luckily I had my mom to help, and I used a website that gave a suggested schedule so I was able to stay on track.
