Becky & Alexander’s Soft Classic Wedding

By  |

If you are looking for soft classic wedding inspiration, look no further. Becky and Alexander completely nailed it when it comes to planning a picturesque and beautiful wedding and are ear to ear in smiles and adoration for each other.
From color schemes to floral arrangements to table set ups, it is all about the details with this soft classic wedding. We absolutely love the adorable ring bearer holding a sign down the aisle and how happy all the guests look  celebrating the newlyweds. Thompson Photography Group captured these remarkable moments from their big day. Biggest congratulations to Becky and Alexander!

From Thompson Photography Group:

We are going for rustic elegance. We picked this concept because we’ve known all along that we wanted to have our reception on Alex’s family’s farm, but we didn’t want to give up any glamour by having a farm as our backdrop. Ipso facto, we arrived at rustic elegance. Our predominant color scheme is blush and gold with pops of navy, but we are also incorporating plenty of rose gold and sparkle. The ceremony took place in a historic stone chapel at Kent School and the reception will take place in a large draped tent with chandeliers.

How They Met:

Alex and Becky’s story begins in the fall of 2010…at the very romantic venue of a monthly meeting for New Milford Community Ambulance. Becky had already been a member for nearly 2 years, but this particular night was Alex’s very first meeting as a brand new member.

Alex walked in, they locked eyes, their hearts went pitter-patter…and thus began an epic game of “let’s see who can ignore who for longer.” Or something like that.

At the time they “met” (this word is in quotations because it’s a stretch…no words were actually exchanged the night of Alex’s first ambulance meeting), Becky was volunteering on the overnight Tuesday shift. And coincidentally, Alex’s car needed washing every Tuesday night. So, on Tuesday nights, Becky would be volunteering at the ambulance headquarters and Alex would show up to wash his car. And they never spoke a word to each other.

During this same time period, Becky casually asked around about Alex…and Alex asked around about Becky. They learned that they had both been rowers in college, so Alex began wearing rowing T-shirts every time he knew he’d bump into Becky. And eventually, there came a monthly ambulance meeting in February 2011 when Alex strategically sat directly in front of Becky…while wearing a T-shirt that advertised his collegiate rowing days.

At the end of that meeting, Becky took the bait…and asked Alex if he rowed in college (even though she already knew he did). And so, after nearly 26 years of living within 8 miles of one another, Alex and Becky officially “met.” The rest, as they say, is history.
