Perfect Proposal: Jennifer and Salil – Fit for a Fairytale!

By  |

Growing up, many young girls dream about the day that their boyfriends or girlfriends propose. I remember as a little girl when I couldn’t sleep I would always craft unique stories of my future proposal, but none of those stories could beat what Salil planned for his big day. I first stumbled upon this video in April, but I haven’t been able to get my mind off of it since then. The amount of time and effort that Salil put into this is absolutely insane- especially because he planned it in a mere nine days.

In the beginning of their relationship, Salil would write stories in which he was a jester, and Jennifer was a princess. These stories are what inspired this fairytale-like proposal to occur. Jennifer believed that she was going to a photoshoot, but in reality it was the day that changed her life forever. Salil created an obstacle course to prove his undying love for Jennifer through challenges such as arm wrestling with the future in-laws, riding a horse, and even surviving despite having knives thrown at him.

We must applaud Salil for not only pulling off the most adorable engagement ever, but also for the fact that he did it within such a limited time frame! Despite its cheesiness, we completely adore this fairytale proposal, and the fact that Jennifer said yes!

 From the Videographer:

Salil wanted to prove to Jennifer that a proposal was worth waiting for. So, he put together a proposal obstacle course that included a horse, a knife thrower, an arm wrestling competition with his future in-laws and a ring bearing Falcon. Skip to 2:05 to check out the point where it all could’ve gone horribly wrong.

A few fun facts:
1. The time between Salil deciding now was the time to ask Jennifer to marry him and the actual day of the proposal: 9 days.
2. There was only one “rehearsal” about twenty minutes before Jennifer arrived. It was the only time we were able to get everyone in the same room at the same time.
3. No one told Collin to take his shirt off.
