Real Life

Irene & James’ Farmhouse Vow Renewal

By  |

When you find and marry the love of your life, you dream of sitting in rocking chairs and growing old together. That dream is the reality of James and Irene Sullivan, to celebrate their 50th anniversary they chose to have a farmhouse vow renewal. We are lucky enough to hear their story from someone who loves them completely their grand daughter Micahla Wilson.  I can’t get over the love and history that tells their story and was lovingly captured by Photography By Micahla Wilson.

We love all of the personal touches that are integrated into this celebration. I have to say it is a first for us have cows attending a wedding and the best man being a rooster 😉 Irene & James are simply precious! One of our favorite details is having one of their original wedding pictures on display! We hope you find as much love and inspiration in the vow renewal as we do! Check it all out below!

Farmhouse Vow Renewal

From Photography By Micahla Wilson:

James & Irene Sullivan, the bride and groom, have been married for now 50 years. I am their granddaughter and photographer. For their 50th anniversary, they wanted to do a vow renewal, so that is what we did. This couple lives in the house in the photos in Doyline, Louisiana.
They live on a farm and have dogs, horses, cows, and chickens. My grandpa tends to the cows every morning, and my grandma gardens corn and squash. She grows berries & pears. They are kind-hearted and love each other more than anything in this world.
When people think of the marriage they want, they think of the two. They have based their marriage on Jesus Christ, and our entire family has learned who God is through them. We have learned to love.
