Jessica & Curtis’ Southern Backyard Wedding

By  |

Every day I get the privilege of looking at amazing weddings and reading the beautiful stories of Brides and Grooms all over the world. I’m not supposed to have favorites I am supposed to be completely unbiased, but I have to admit when a wedding from Brandy Angel Photography crosses my desk, my heart flutters a little cause I know that there will be such amazing beauty. Jessica & Curtis’ southern backyard wedding is the perfect example of this beauty.

From the palette of emerald and cream to Jessicas classically beautiful style choices, all of the details of this wedding are picture perfect and my favorite part is the look on this beautiful couple’s faces throughout the whole day, softly smiling and completely in love. We can’t think of a better way to start the rest of your lives. Congratulations to Jessica & Curtis!

Their story from the bride:

Curtis and I met back in 2009 at Augusta State University where I played volleyball and he was a member of the baseball team. Our relationship was the furthest thing from your typical “love story”, in fact, we really didn’t get along at all; however, things changed drastically a year later when we bumped into one another at a Halloween party

Perhaps it was because I was dressed as Michelangelo, Curt’s favorite ninja turtle growing up, but for some reason, that night things seemed different between us as we spent a majority of the night together laughing and just having a good time. After that night we kept finding reasons to hang out, until eventually, we became inseparable, spending as much time together possible outside of class and practice.

Over the next four years, we experienced a lot together and grew immensely as a couple. We traveled together, finished school, and even moved across the country to Utah, where we have begun a new chapter of our lives and have supported one another as both of our careers have taken off.

As things began to fall into place, Curtis and I talked more seriously about getting married, and he started receiving some not so subtle hints from family members about popping the question; but he finally gave in on March 26th, and asked for my hand in marriage while we were in Charleston celebrating his father’s 60th birthday. It was a day I will cherish forever, as well as our dream-like wedding, which was the perfect way to kick-off our new life and celebrate with the people we care about most.
