Tia & Jim’s Montana Lakeside Wedding
What makes a perfect lakeside wedding? Blue skies that go on for ages, lush green mountains, and a lovable couple like Tia and Jim for starters. Add in the Montana countryside, family and friends, and a good dose of fun and you’ll be good to go. Tia and Jim did just this as they fully embraced their lakeside setting, with a waterfront ceremony and a champagne boat ride to their reception, they took every advantage of their amazing venue.
Thank you, Marianne Wiest Photography for capturing the memories of this lakeside wedding. Congratulations Tia and Jim, we wish you the best!
From the Bride:
Where are you and your fiance from?
We were both born in Lethbridge, Alberta. Although when I was 4 I moved to Las Vegas, Nevada with my family and grew up there and when Jim was 5, his family and him moved to Banff, Alberta. We then both moved back to Lethbridge for University in our 20s.
How did you and your fiance meet?
Funny story..we still hear jokes about this one. To make it short, he was my Landlord and I was the Tenant who lived in his basement-suit of his house. With only a few months in of renting, the Landlord and Tenant fell in love. You could imagine all the jokes Jim still hears from his buddies, especially on our wedding day, it was the joke of the night.
Why did you choose to get married in NW Montana?
My family and I have been going to Whitefish for a long time. Its a great meeting point for family to meet us from Alberta, and we could fly in from Vegas. Montana always took a piece of my heart in the summers, when we’d be out on the lake all day with the family and friends. I soon introduced it to Jim and we went to visit a few times together. We finally made the decision that having our summer wedding actually take place at The Lodge of Whitefish Lake would be magical.
What was the best part about getting married here?
The best part about getting married there, was minus the beautiful location that we fell in love with, but ALL the vendors we worked with there were SO amazing, and SO easy going. Being that we were in another country planning this wedding, we were lucky enough to hire a wedding planner, from Montana; Mara Strobal. She was a huge help and knew what she was doing. She found all the perfect vendors for us and made our special day go as smoothly as possible.
