Say “I do” to the shoe – The Nudes Edition!

By  |

Two years ago, the iconic Christian Louboutin released The Nudes, a collection of heels created to match different skin tones. Although the collection became a cult classic practically overnight, something major was missing: a wider spectrum of skin tones. So, in April 2015, he unveiled his new collection which included five different shades, and different silhouettes. These new colors and shapes were introduced to embody the different colors and personalities of women all around the world, and that they did.

According to the Merriam-Webster dictionary, the color “nude” is classified as “the color of a white person’s skin”. This definition excludes women of color all around the globe, and it is time to take a stand. And that is exactly what Christian Louboutin is doing. His shoe collection launched a fiery debate within the fashion world, and it is still burning to this day.

This collection is not only incredibly politically-correct, it is incredibly chic as well. We love the “So Kate” style for the more subtle, classic bride and the “Deepik” style for the edgy, trendier bride. The shoes are perfect for subtlety, especially when it comes to playing up the gown. So thank you Louboutin, for making the world a little more tolerating, and also for the gorgeous shoes you created for Nicky Hilton’s wedding!

Deepik

No, your vision is not failing you. “Deepik’s” extraordinary silhouette is defined by its scalloped vamp and eye-catching “New Wave” heel. The asymmetrical open toe features a small panel of transparent PVC to assist in the effect. Part of our Nudes Collection, this Blush No. 1 version is for the fair toned Louboutin lady.

So Kate

Gracefully placed on a thin heel with a long, pointed toe, this 120mm beauty is the quintessential pump for true stiletto lovers. In celebration of The Nudes, feast your eyes on the new icon “So Kate,” the most recent addition in this extraordinary capsule collection. From fair blush to rich chestnut, find your perfect match in the spectrum of shades, so whether you’re an “Ada,” “Safki,” “Maya,” “Nats,” or “Lea,” Monsieur Louboutin dares you to bare all and go Nude in “So Kate.”

Iriza

Monsieur Louboutin’s classic half d’orsay pump “Iriza” is a stunning look for women who aren’t afraid to be a little bit exposed. The cutout vamp is very sexy for casual and formal dress alike. Part of our Nudes Collection, this Blush No. 5 version is for the mahogany toned Louboutin lady.
