From the Bride and Groom:
Tell us about your wedding! What was the inspiration for your day? Did you have a specific theme, style or color palette?
My goal was to create a Romantic Fall Wedding. For my guest not only see the love but also feel the love. The theme was Modern Rustic Wedding. Color palette: Grey and WhiteI incorporated a picture of my grandma that past away February 2016.
What were the florals like in your wedding? Did you use flowers in any of your design elements like the bridal bouquets, centerpieces or ceremony backdrop? Did they play an important part in the overall style of your wedding?
Lots of greenery! Thanks for Heather Christan Designs for all the floral design. The silver dollar and garland by the foot on top of the seating chart, welcome sign, and sweetheart table. Centerpieces had mixed greens (silver dollar, olive leaves, rosemary) around the base. The bridal bouquet also had mixed greens mixed with Anemone Marianne Panda, Dahlia cafe au last, dusty miller and white roses. The bridesmaid’s bouquet had eucalyptus seeded, eucalyptus silver dollar, rosemary, white roses, and white majolica. We also had the bridesmaids were an olive leaf flower crown. Did you personalize the day in any way (food trucks, guest entertainment etc.)? What were some of your favorite parts of your wedding?
We personalized our wedding by incorporating Jorge’s favorite color grey. Having our favorite foods (pizza, tacos) as appetizers. Serving our favorite alcoholic drinks with personalized names. Jorge’s Captain and coke, which was named ‘Til Death Do Us Part.’ Jessie’s Malibu Rum with Pineapple named ‘High School Sweet Hearts.’ My favorite part of our wedding was definitely our wedding vows and the heartfelt toast from our family.
Let’s talk fashion. How did you choose your wedding day look? How did the groom? Describe both looks in detail.
I based my look according to the venue and theme. Since I was going for a Romantic Modern Rustic Wedding I knew my dress had to be trumpet style, ivory, and lace. With a Luxe tulle cathedral veil. Accessories: Beaded Vine Halo headpiece and earrings. Hair (soft curls) and makeup (soft/natural look) The groom wanted a fitted suit. He went with a Black Slim Fit Vera Wong. Hair and makeup: BeLoved Hair and Makeup (Liz)
How did you meet? Tell us about the proposal.
Jorge and Jessie met in December 2002 while in high school. Jorge was known as a ladies man so Jessie had no interest in him but Jorge’s persistency sparked an interest in Jessie. After couple days of passing notes, they found out they only lived down the street from each other. From that day forward Jorge and Jessie walked home together and the rest was history.
What was the most anticipated or special moment of your wedding day?
I have to say walking down the aisle. Once I saw my soon to be husband down the aisle and noticed tears running down his checks made me break down in tears.
Do you have any wedding planning or marriage advice that you’d like to share with other couples planning their day?
Even though planning a wedding is the most stressful time it is all worth it at the end. Enjoy every minute of it!
